Dr. Sid Gustafson
DVM
Dr. Sid Gustafson has devoted his career to the health, behavior, welfare, and soundness of animals. Raised among horses, cats, dogs, cattle, and wildlife in Montana, he developed an early appreciation for understanding animals from their own perspective.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science, cum laude, from Washington State University in 1976 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1979. He is also a Human–Animal Bond Certified Veterinary Practitioner and has completed advanced study in animal behavior.
As Equine Studies Program Coordinator for the Natural Horsemanship Program at the University of Montana Western, Dr. Gustafson developed science-based curriculum covering equine behavior, husbandry, development, and training.
